I want to learn network programming, scripting, web development using scripting languages. There are so many books in the market and every one of them claims to be the best. So I need first hand informations and tips to choose the correct book both for beginner’s and advanced level users.
I use apache webserver, oracle 10g express edition, windows xp pro, and zendcore for oracle. I want my computer to be a server and connect it to internet so I can manipulate my data in other computer. I try to find the answer in google and yahoo but it seems i failed.

I already know basics of PHP, but I think the best way to learn more is to create a website. I would like to create a Social Network or Dating site using PHP, and I would like to know if there is a good book(s) or website(s) that can help me. If you know any, please let me know.
