i have good grip in java programming,but i am new to ajax. I have a html file and a php file ,i know how to manage with servlets using tomcat server,but i don’t where to locate the php file in tom cat server can any one give me a solution pleas?

I don’t need anything complex, just something straightforward with a nice interface.
I have some very basic HTML skills but I’ve put these on a back-burner in recent years and done what little web site coding I’ve needed to do in Dreamweaver.
Lately I’ve been working with some open source code which pulls information from a MYSQL database but the PHP files used are very basic. I’d like to adapt these files to fit in with my website’s basic template but don’t know how to edit the PHP. I’d like a nice simple way, in something like Dreamweaver where I can just cut the existing tables from the old document, drop them into the relevant section of my site and then just save it.
Can anyone explain the easiest way for me please?

I know they produce different output and the size and speed are slightly different but why did they invent uuencode – what makes it superior that they had to invent it for PHP5?
I’m planning on serializing a class and encoding it using base64 to store in a text field in mysql. I know base64 works since PHP4 so why should I bother with uuencode?

I’m undergoing a large project that will involve several thousand images, so I would like to use the Piwigo photo gallery software to post them on the web. To post a Piwigo gallery I need my own web space that supports MySQL 5 and PHP 5, and at my current estimate of 25 galleries of 4MB each I’ll need at least 100MB available to use.
Which would be the best free web host to use?
