100% Absolutely. PHP is the most used server side language (along with a MySQL backend) and is definitely not going anywhere soon. PHP is getting more Object Oriented related which is great. I would suggest learning PHP and ASP .NET. If you know both of those, you’ll be good to go.
At Present, No big corporates are using PHP as developement framework its due to fact that its Open source and freely available. And They ca’t get any service if they found something odd in PHP. So there is job crisis in PHP…you will get job but salary you can’t. So if your fresher then don’t go for it otherwise you will be in trouble. Better go for NET platform.

php is more an add-on course. you can combine it with your normal degree . and it can lead you to a higher paying job .
